What's new for the 2017 Toyota RAV4?

The new 2017 Toyota RAV4 has received many exciting new features. The great SUV has gained the Toyota Safety Sense P system, which is a suite of innovative driver assistance technologies, including lane-departure alert, pre-collision braking, automatic high beams, and the brand's Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. Toyota has also introduced a new Platinum trim, which offers an incredible level of luxury and sophistication with features like a heated steering wheel, unique badging, premium accents, and a full body-color trim. The Platinum trim also has a variety of convenience features like a foot-activated power rear liftgate and a 5-door Smart Key System.

What are my powertrain options?

The new RAV4 is offered with two outstanding drive systems. The first is a gasoline-powered 2.5-liter inline-4 engine. This engine delivers 176 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque, and it sends power to a standard front-wheel drive system and a 6-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is available, and when the RAV4 is properly equipped it can deliver a maximum towing rating of 1,500 pounds. Toyota alternatively offers their RAV4 Hybrid, which pairs a 2.5-liter inline-4 engine with an electric motor, and produces 194 horsepower and 206 lb-ft of torque. The RAV4 Hybrid utilizes a standard all-wheel drive system and a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

What are the equipment options in the RAV4?

There are many ways that the RAV4 can be customized for your needs, and Toyota has ensured that every version of the SUV is well-equipped. There are five trim levels offered: the LE, XLE, SE, Limited, and the new Platinum. Standard features include Bluetooth connectivity, an Entune system with a 6.1-inch display, a six-speaker sound system, and both USB and auxiliary inputs. The XLE adds highlights like a power moonroof, satellite and HD radio, and dual-zone climate control. The SE has driver-oriented features like paddle shifters, a sport suspension, and refined SofTex seating. The Limited trim has SofTex upholstery, navigation with the Entune Premium audio system, and a power liftgate. The fantastic new Platinum trim is highlighted above. There are also many driver aids that make maneuvering the RAV4 safer, like optional front and rear parking sensors, rear cross-traffic and blind-spot detection, and an optional 360-degree Bird's Eye monitor.
