2018 Toyota Camry

Toyota offers five options in the 2018 Camry lineup — L, LE, XLE, SE, and XSE — along with three hybrid models and two V-6 setups. Starting MSRP ranges from $23,645 for the L to $35,100 for the XSE V-6. </br></br> The front fascia has a bold, angled visage with a large elongated grille. The SE and XSE have a more traditional, yet sporty fascia that features a modified gloss-black grille with sport mesh inserts. The hallmark for this year's model is the optional dual-tone exterior with a midnight black metallic roof and rear spoiler available on the XSE trim.

The Camry has a good amount of power for a midsize sedan, thanks to a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that churns out 203 horsepower. If you're looking for a little more power, consider the 3.5-liter V-6 engine with 301 horsepower on the XLE and XSE. The XSE also comes with three drive modes — ECO, Normal, and Sport — depending on whether you want to be efficient or indulge your need for speed. As an added plus, most trims have a Super Low Emission Vehicle (SULEV) rating, meaning it emits 90 percent fewer emissions than regular gas-powered vehicles.

Toyota has successfully melded performance with efficiency. An independent MacPherson strut front suspension and multilink rear suspension deliver an excellent ride quality and sharp handling that'll make for a more enjoyable trip. It never hurts to save money on gas, either. The base L trim has the best fuel efficiency with an EPA-estimated 41 miles per gallon on the highway, and 29 in the city. The other trims don't trail far behind. The hybrid LE model gets an attractive 52 mpg combined, while the SE and XLE hybrids get around 45 combined.

The 2018 Camry impresses with a comfortable cabin and an array of tech features. Settle into supple leather-trimmed seats and customize it to your comfort level. Manage music, navigation, and more with the Entune 3.0 infotainment system from a 7- or 8-inch touch screen. And enjoy your favorite tunes or audiobook on the optional nine-speaker JBL audio system. </br></br> Special features on the XSE include a leather-trimmed steering wheel with paddle shifters, Qi wireless smartphone charger, and 7-inch driver display that features the odometer, fuel economy, and trip information. And if you need directions, just check out the 10-inch head-up display (HUD) that projects pertinent information like speed, navigation, and outside temperature onto the windshield.

Drivers will feel safe with a host of standard safety features like a backup camera and the Safety Sense P suite, which includes pre-collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering assist, dynamic cruise control, and automatic high beams. In the unfortunate case of an accident, there are 10 air bags around the interior to keep passengers safe. Other available safety features include blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. Along with all the other excellent features of this long-standing sedan, the Camry is a force to be reckoned with in 2018.
