The 2018 Prius comes in seven different trim levels, the One, Two, Two Eco, Three, Three Touring, Four, and Four Touring. The base model, One, starts at $23,475 MSRP. Power

All Prius models come with 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine paired to two electric motors. The goal of this hybrid system is maximum efficiency, and the Prius delivers. With 121 horsepower, the Prius offers enough power for comfortable highway cruising. The battery packs—sealed Nickel-Metal Hydride on the One and Two and Lithium-ion for the Two Eco, Three, and Four—offer enough electric power for short intervals while driving around in town. Every Prius also comes standard with the Toyota CVT transmission, which continuously adjusts the gear ratio for optimal fuel consumption.

Performance

First things first. The Prius gets an EPA-estimated 54 mpg in the city and 50 on the highway. The Two Eco, through decreases in weight and the addition of the LIthium-ion battery bank, does even better, averaging an astounding EPA-estimated 58 mpg in the city. The Prius offers a surprising amount of interior space. With room for four adults to ride comfortably, there is still 27.4 cubic feet of cargo space available. Folding down the 60/40 split rear seat boosts the cargo capacity to 65.5 cubic feet. Front driver and passenger seats offer deep bolsters for added comfort on long drives. The Prius gets Toyota's easy-to-use ETune Audio infotainment system. Models Three and above include the upgraded ETune Audio Premium, with built-in navigation and the Qi-compatible wireless charging pad. Prius Four and Four Touring models also offer a large 11.6-inch touchscreen for controlling the infotainment system.
