2019 Toyota Avalon

The exterior of the 2019 Avalon boasts a 2.0-inch longer wheelbase, new LED headlights and taillights, a new bold front grille, and an altogether sportier look. This car comes in four trims: XLE, XSE, Limited, and Touring. Each trim, except the Touring, also features a hybrid model. The XLE and Hybrid XLE models, offer 17-inch alloy wheels, High Solar Energy-Absorbing glass, and an acoustic noise-reducing windshield. </br></br> Next in line are the XSE and XSE Hybrid models, which boast a power moonroof, piano-black spoiler, and heated outside mirrors with turn signal and blind spot indicators. The XSE has 19-inch alloy wheels, whereas the Hybrid features 18-inch alloy wheels. The Limited and Limited Hybrid models sport a front chrome grille surround and 18-inch alloy wheels. The Touring trim features piano black accents for a sporty, modern look. This trim offers 19-inch alloy wheels and a sport sound-tuned exhaust.

The standard engine of the Avalon is a 3.5-liter V-6 paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission that generates 301 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque. The fuel efficiency of this engine is rated at 22 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway. There is also a hybrid option, the 2.5-liter four-cylinder ECVT engine, which is paired with electric motors and batteries to deliver 215 horsepower and 163 pound-feet of torque. Fuel-efficiency is quite impressive with this engine and is rated at 43 mpg in the city and 44 mpg on the highway.

You can customize your driving experience with the Avalon by choosing between different driving modes: ECO, Normal, and Sport. The Touring also offers Custom, Sport, and Sport+ selections under the Sport mode, the latter giving you a firmer and stiffer drive. Driving modes with Hybrids include EV, ECO, Normal, and Sport, with the EV mode utilizing the electric motors exclusively.

The interior of the Avalon offers more space, upgraded technology, and loads of style. The Limited trim boasts grained wood across the dash and door panels, whereas the Touring trim features metallic accents. The base XLE and XLE trims come with the Entune 3.0 infotainment system, dual-zone automatic climate control with air filter and rear-seat vents, and USB ports. SofTex-trimmed seats with perforation and Ultrasuede heated front seats and a wireless charger are added with the XSE and XSE Hybrid models. </br></br> The Limited and Limited Hybrid trims boast premium leather-trimmed heated and ventilated front seats, whereas the Touring trim sports a 14-speaker sound system, heated steering wheel, and ambient lighting.
