2019 Toyota Highlander

The 2019 Toyota Highlander comes in six trim levels: LE, LE Plus, XLE, SE, Limited, and Limited Platinum. There are also Hybrid models available in the LE, XLE, Limited, and Platinum trims. </br></br> The base LE trim offers 18-inch wheels; heated, power turn-signal indicator mirrors; a rear lip spoiler; and automatic high-beam headlights. The LE Plus adds a power lift gate and fog lights, whereas the XLE gets a sunroof and roof rails. You will find 19-inch alloy wheels with the SE trim and LED daytime running lights and a chrome grille with the Limited model. The Platinum trim will give you a panoramic sunroof and rain-sensing windshield wipers.

The base LE trim comes with a 2.7-liter I-4 engine paired with a six-speed automatic that produces 185 horsepower and 187 pound-feet of torque. This engine is only available in front-wheel drive. If you want all-wheel drive, you can upgrade to the 3.5-liter V-6 engine, which generates 295 horsepower and 263 pound-feet of torque and is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. </br></br> The Hybrids come with a 3.5-liter V-6 paired to a continuously variable automatic transmission that will give you 231 horsepower and 215 pound-feet of torque.

Despite its size, the Highlander provides one of the quietest rides on the market without sacrificing power. It will also give you an amazing towing capacity of up to 5,000 lbs. The Start-Stop technology included with the V-6 increases the Highlander's efficiency by automatically switching the engine off when the car comes to a halt.

The cabin of the Highlander is stylish and roomy and provides ample head- and legroom for adults. The LE, LE Plus, Hybrid LE, and Hybrid XLE models feature three-seat benches in the second and third rows, which pushes the seating capacity up to eight. The other models come with Captain's chairs, so they can only seat seven. It is, however, possible to opt for three-seat benches in these models if you so desire. </br></br> The LE trim features a basic version of Toyota's Entune infotainment system, five USB ports, a rearview camera, a third-row manual 60/40 split-bench seat, and voice-activated radio. With the LE Plus trim, you can expect automatic climate control, a power driver's seat, and SofTex upholstery. </br></br> The XLE trim features leather upholstery, heated front seats, turn-by-turn navigation, and sunshades, while the SE trim gets a unique interior trim. Leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, and a JBL-brand audio system is included with the Limited trim, while the Platinum model boasts a heated steering wheel and surround-view camera.

All models come standard with Toyota Safety Sense, a suite of driver-assistance features that includes forward-collision warning with autonomous emergency braking and pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning with automatic steering correction, automatic high-beam headlights, and radar cruise control.
