  1. Boat Rentals

If you truly want to experience the stunning vistas at Belmont Lake State Park, you’re going to want to be on the water. Sure there are several ways to see the sights around the 463-acre park, but renting a small boat provides a hard-to-beat experience. You can rent pedal boats with a capacity of four people or rowboats which will seat five. Rentals are available through mid-October and open back up again at the beginning of May. If you’re interested in doing some fishing from one of the rowboats, keep in mind that it’s only available Monday through Friday.

Kayaks can also be rented if your party is interested. In addition to boat rentals, you can bring your own boat and put it in the water from the boat launch. No motorized craft, paddleboards, or wakeboards are allowed.

  1. Picnics

One of the most relaxing ways to enjoy Belmont Lake State Park is to have a picnic. There’s a great selection of picnic areas, so you don’t need to worry about arriving and not finding an open table. Many of the tables have ample shade so you can relax at your table without being baked in the hot sun. There is parking available at the park, and there is a nominal toll for vehicle access. Pavilions with restroom access and covered areas are available to rent as well with reservations being made in advance.

Your kids will love to visit the State Park’s playground where they can run, climb, and play games with other children. There are swings, a splash zone, and multiple climbing structures with fort towers and slides. Little ones will love banging on the drums and riding the riding toys which are mounted to the ground. The ground itself is covered in a soft artificial surface.

  1. Hiking and Walking Trails

If you’re looking to get your body moving while enjoying the scenery around Belmont Lake State Park, take advantage of the walking trail whenever you can. The changing seasons always bring with them new sights and sounds. There are multiple stretching and exercise stations along the path. These stations will also serve to help keep younger kids entertained while you walk. Leashed dogs are allowed on the trail, and the park does ask that you take the time to clean up after your dog.

There are lots of fun ways to spend the day at Belmont Lake State Park. Renting paddle boats, canoes, or kayaks can be a great way to experience Belmont Lake, or simply strolling on the walking trail and having a picnic can be a great way to enjoy the outdoors.
