A picturesque view of a waterfront in West Islip.Located on the southern shores of Long Island, West Islip is a great place to take some stunning Instagram photos. You’ll find a great mix of both natural and man-made locations that are perfect for bolstering your social media presence. Here are some of the best Instagram-worthy stops on your trip through West Islip.

1. Argyle Park

This charming park features plenty of landscapes that are perfect Instagram backdrops. A large body of water surrounds most of the park, making it a great spot to shoot some amazing lakeside sunset or sunrise Instagram photos. There’s plenty of beautiful green foliage as well, which opens plenty of seasonal opportunities. In the spring, budding trees create a backdrop that’s bursting with life. The fall, of course, creates stunning, vibrant colors that reflect off the water. When winter arrives and drops snow across the quiet landscape, you’re granted with more great Instagram opportunities.

There’s more to Argyle Park than the seasonal photo options. If you’re lucky, you may even encounter a group of swans to take photos with. Just don’t stand too close! With a bit of exploring you can find some small waterfalls with an overlook, vintage homes, and more to help you create a spectacular series of Instagram photos.

2. West Islip Beach and Marina

What Instagram profile would be complete without a trip or two to the beach? Head on over to the West Islip Beach and Marina. This quiet beachfront is far from the hustle and bustle of larger beaches further down Long Island. You won’t find an area for food or refreshments nearby, but you also won’t find a ton of people. This makes the West Islip Beach the perfect place to set up a few beach-themed Instagram photos without trying to frame 100 people out of a shot. Instead, you’ll have the time to create the perfect angles and snap some share-worthy pics.

3. The American Air Power Museum

For a little change of pace, try adding some heavy war machinery to your arsenal of awesome Instagram photos. If that sounds interesting, check out the American Air Power Museum. Inside, you’ll have the opportunity to stand next to some of the warplanes of America’s past.

What makes a better Instagram photo than standing at one of the gun stations or taking a selfie from one of the many cockpits you can climb into? If you’re looking to change up your Instagram content from the daily routine of beaches and limited edition specialty lattes, the American Air Power Museum has just what you need.

4. Captree State Park

This park delivers a great boardwalk feel with its small boats docked right near the shore and wooden plank walking area. If you’re looking for a quaint watercraft oceanfront vibe on your Instagram adventure, the Captree State Park is the place. It’s hard to beat the beautiful sunsets that frequently cast an orange glow over the park, perfect for those sunset silhouette photos.
