The styling of the Prime is pretty unique and makes it stand out in the crowd on the city streets or on the open road. There are three trim levels – Plus, Premium, and Advanced – but all Prius Prime models are generously equipped. Here are four of the best high-tech features.

1. Hybrid Power

The power is to the front wheels via a continuously variable transmission. The gas engine gives you 95 horsepower, and the total combined power output is 121 horsepower.

The electric motor can be fully charged at home using a standard household outlet in around five hours and 30 minutes or at one of the many 240-volt public charging stations in a little over two hours. You can do up to 25 miles purely using electric power after which the car will switch to hybrid power. The total EPA estimated range is 640 miles and in hybrid mode, the Prius will return an impressive 54 mpg for combined driving.

2. Safety Features

Toyota Safety Sense P is a range of safety features fitted as standard on the Prius Prime. It includes adaptive cruise control, pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering assist, and automatic headlight high beams. All models are sure to be seen with Quad LED headlights with auto-off, LED tail and stop lights, and LED daytime running lights. Also included is a vehicle proximity notification system.

Stepping up to the Premium trim level adds auto-on and -off headlights, while the Advanced also gets you LED fog lights, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, intelligent parking assist, and an automatic dimming rearview mirror.

3. Instrumentation

A color 4.2-inch customizable dual display provides multi-function driver information, including an indicator for the hybrid system, a record of your eco savings, and climate control settings.

The Prius Prime Advanced features a heads-up color display on the windscreen enabling you to keep your eyes on the road while getting essential information. The display includes navigation, battery charge indicator, and safety system alerts.
