The 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback, also known as the Corolla HB, packs all the features of the popular sedan into a more convenient five-door design. There’s a lot to love about this version of Toyota’s well-known car. Here’s what you can expect.
Two Different Trims
The 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback has two trims. The first is the SE, which comes with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters and 16-inch twin-spoke alloy wheels. The second option is the XSE, which upgrades to 18-inch machined alloy wheels and includes leather-trimmed, heated seats. Each trim uses the same 8-inch touchscreen display to keep you connected to the world while you’re on the road. Both models are also available in fun and flashy color schemes, like Blue Flame, Blizzard Pearl, and Scarlet.
A More Stylish Corolla

Responsive Engine
You’ll enjoy the Corolla Hatchback’s snappy continuously variable transmission (CVT), which combines the accessibility of a traditional automatic transmission with the fuel efficiency of a manual transmission. You can also opt for a six-speed manual transmission if you prefer the tactile feel and greater control of switching gears manually. Either transmission will control the new Corolla’s 2.0-liter Dynamic Force engine that’s capable of outputting 168 horsepower and 155 pound-feet of torque. While this engine isn’t the biggest on the market, it provides more than enough kick to power the sporty new hatchback.
Performance
You’ll revel in the new Corolla’s tight steering, which responds sensitively to your input. The 2019 Corolla Hatchback also comes with its own all-new suspension system. The suspension works in tandem with the vehicle’s low center of gravity, allowing for tighter turns on narrow, winding roads. The Corolla HB’s chassis also works to absorb the impact from potholes and bumps in the road, allowing for a smoother and more comfortable driving experience. And naturally, the Corolla Hatchback carries over the fuel efficiency for which the model is known.
Safety Features

This is a suite of advanced safety technologies, including a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, dynamic cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assistance, automatic high beams, and more.
