The RAV4 Hybrid received some significant upgrades for 2019 just like the regular RAV4. This compact SUV has a spacious interior, comes with the latest safety technology, and takes everything you love about the RAV4 and makes it better. Here is everything you need to know about the 2019 RAV4 Hybrid.

The Trim Levels

The 2019 model comes in four different trim levels. The base level LE starts the lineup with 17-inch wheels, LED headlights, and roof rails. It also has daytime running lights. Bumping up to the XLE adds extra safety technology and the option for the Weather package. This adds automatic windshield wipers with a de-icer. Stepping up again to the XSE gets you 18-inch black painted wheels, two-tone exterior paint, and the option for the Technology package. The Limited trim sits at the top of the lineup with 18-inch chrome wheels.

The Engine

All of the RAV4 Hybrids come with the same 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and electric motor, which combined produces 219 horsepower. A second electric motor works to power the rear wheels when the RAV4 drives through low-traction conditions. A continuously variable automatic transmission shifts seamlessly through simulated gears.

The Technology

The base model comes with a 7-inch touch-screen display, Apple CarPlay, Toyota Connected Services with Wi-Fi, and a USB port. Moving up through the trims adds additional technology, including a larger 8-inch touch screen, satellite radio, an integrated navigation system in the Limited, and the option for an 11-speaker JBL stereo system. A 7-inch digital driver-information display comes in the XSE and above, and if you add the Limited Grade Advanced Technology package, it comes with a foot activation feature for the power liftgate and a wireless charging pad.

The Safety Features

All the 2019 RAV4 Hybrid models come standard with a rearview camera and the latest version of the Toyota Safety Sense package. This includes lane departure warning, front collision warning with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, and lane tracing assist. Just a step up to the XLE will add automatic headlights, and the Technology package is an option for the XLE and XSE, adding both front and rear parking sensors and automatic rear cross-traffic alert. A blind spot monitoring system is also available along with a 360-degree surround view camera system.

The Cabin

The RAV4 Hybrid’s cabin is spacious and comfortable. There is room for up to five passengers, and for 2019, Toyota made some significant upgrades to the quality of the materials. In the back, there are 37.6 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats up and you can expand this by folding the second row down flat. The Limited adds some extra options for the cabin, including a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, and heated outboard rear seats.

Sit down in the 2019 RAV4 Hybrid and you can see and feel the quality upgrades. This efficient compact SUV also has some new exterior features and plenty of power to get you up and going quickly.
