A 2019 Toyota C-HR stopped at a busy downtown intersection at night. The C-HR was an exciting, sporty addition added to Toyota’s lineup for 2018, boasting an eye-catching and assertive body style. For the 2019 model year, the C-HR returns with a few welcome adjustments and improvements, raising the value per dollar spent even more. Take a look at our guide on what’s new with the C-HR and the returning features you may have forgotten about.

Brand New Trim Levels

The most dramatic change from 2018 to 2019 is the addition of two new trim levels. First is the LE, now the baseline and most affordable trim. The LE includes a stunning package of comfort and convenience items, including an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a rearview camera, the returning 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 144 horsepower and on-the-fly switchable driving modes, keyless entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth for phone and audio streaming, and plenty more.

The other brand-new trim level is the Limited, the most luxurious and advanced C-HR yet. The 2019 C-HR Limited builds upon the standard features of the mid-level XLE with leather seating, automatic windshield wipers, two-way power lumbar support for the driver seat, heated front seats, a Wi-Fi hotspot, HD radio, remote vehicle controls, and fog lights. The Limited also has an optional feature that was not attainable on any C-HR model last year, which we’ll cover shortly.

Standard Apple CarPlay

Vehicle app services have grown increasingly common as standard equipment. The first C-HR came with Android Auto, and now, the Apple device equivalent, Apple CarPlay, is standard across all 2019 C-HR models, as well. These handy software packages allow drivers to receive all sorts of information and entertainment, controlling it from their phones and other mobile devices. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay make it simpler than ever to find restaurants and hotels on a road trip, scan for traffic jams, check game scores, and much more.

Added Available Features

Regarding the equipment across all trims, the 2018 C-HR was missing a few desirable luxury items you might see on competing models. This absence is now completely resolved. Leather seat upholstery, once not available, is now standard on the new top-line C-HR Limited. Navigation wasn’t available but is now an optional upgrade to the C-HR Limited’s touchscreen infotainment system.

The Same C-HR Experience

The C-HR earned high marks from customers and critics in 2018, and Toyota has wisely built upon that standard without changing what people loved. The continuously variable transmission gives plenty of pep and energy to the SUV on the highway and lifts its efficiency to an impressive 27 miles per gallon in the city and 31 miles per gallon on the highway. All of the handy driver aid and collision prevention features make their return as well, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, automatic on/off high beams, and brake hold.

The C-HR made an impression when it debuted last year thanks to its suave appearance and appealing feature set. If you are interested in a roomy subcompact crossover that’s as safe as it is fun to drive, the C-HR is a must see. Browse our C-HR inventory and schedule a test drive with us today. We look forward to serving you.
