Are you in the mood for some great Thai food during your visit to West Islip, New York? If so, we definitely have you covered. There are an abundance of great Thai restaurants to choose from in the area, and here are three of the best.

Thai Basil

With a large menu and an abundance of great options, Thai Basil is a great choice if you’re craving some delicious Thai food. If you’re in the mood for a bowl of soup, you can’t go wrong with the Tom Kha Gai chicken coconut soup. For something light, you should consider the papaya salad, which is made of papaya, mixed string beans, tomatoes, lime juice, and ground peanuts.

If you’re craving some noodles and enjoy something spicy, we suggest giving the Mee Ga spicy coconut noodles a try. These fried coconut noodles come with chicken, baby shrimp, peppers, and mushrooms. If you’re browsing the extensive selection of entrees, consider the Thai sesame chicken or the spicy cashew chicken. If you’re in the mood for some dessert, consider ordering a fried banana topped with honey. For something really indulgent, you could even try an order of fried Oreo cookies.

Simply Thai

Another great option if you’re craving some tasty Thai food is Simply Thai. They have a large menu with an abundance of appetizers, soups, salads, noodle dishes, and entrees. If you’re in the mood for something light, try the grilled beef salad. This spicy dish is made with grilled beef, roasted rice, cucumber, red onions, scallions, and tomato in chili-lime dressing. If you are in the mood for noodles, try the Pad Kee Mao, which is sauteed flat rice noodles with bell peppers, string beans, garlic, and fresh basil, all resting in a homemade sauce. If you are hungry but don’t want noodles, consider the Duck Tamarind off the list of chef’s specials. This crispy boneless half duck is served with broccoli and tamarind sauce.

Galanga Thai

Start your meal at Galanga Thai with an order of the spring rolls or the fresh summer rolls. If you’d like a salad, you can’t go wrong with the spicy steak salad, Yam Nuer Yarng. If you’re craving some pasta, we highly recommend an order of Pad Thai with either shrimp, chicken, beef, or vegetables. If you want noodles but aren’t in the mood for Pad Thai, try an order of the Pad See Yu, which is Thai country-style stir-fried rice noodles with broccoli and eggs. You have the option to add your choice of beef, chicken, or vegetables.

If you’re craving chicken, we highly suggest the mango chicken, made with chicken, mango, red onions, sweet pea pods, and peppers, cooked in a sweet and sour sauce and served over rice. To satisfy your sweet tooth, we suggest either the mango sweet sticky rice or the Thai coconut cake.

This is just a glimpse of the many great Thai restaurants you can find during a visit to West Islip. We hope you have the opportunity to enjoy these as well as others during your stay in our city.
