If you are looking for an SUV, you want cargo space. You also want excellent off-road capability. And everyone wants reliability. Well, according to U.S. News & World Report the 2019 Toyota 4Runner has all three. Here’s a look at everything you need to know about the 2019 4Runner.

Power

The 2019 4Runner comes standard with a 4.0-liter V-6 engine that pumps out 270 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque. Power enough to get you over the mountain or to pass that slow-moving vehicle hazard in your way.

Paired with Toyota’s 5-speed Electronically Controlled automatic Transmission with intelligence (ECT-i), and a part-time 4-wheel drive Active Traction Control system, the 4Runner can handle any road.

The 4Runner also comes standard with Hill Start Assist Control (HAC). The available Downhill Assist Control (DAC) selectively applies the brakes when encountering steep or slippery descents to help keep the vehicle under control. Towing up to 5,000 pounds is a breeze too, so hook up the boat and head out to that hard-to-reach fishing hole.

Style

The 2019 4Runner projects toughness from bumper to bumper with that iconic 4Runner look. Projector Beam Headlights cut through the dust and fog and lead the way. On the TRD, 17-inch 6-spoke alloy wheels are standard, or you can upgrade to 7-spoke alloy wheels with black-painted highlights. The Limited 4Runner comes with 20-inch split 6-spoke wheels.

Inside the 4Runner cabin, you are surrounded by the comforts of home, even though you may be far from a paved road. The Optitron instrument panel houses the latest technology that might look right at home on a space shuttle. As you rocket down the road or blast through the outback, your Entune multi-media system will navigate the way on a 6.1-inch high-resolution touch-screen display.

The 8-way power-adjustable driver seat and 4-way power-adjustable front passenger seat are just the beginning of your comfortable ride. Dual-zone climate control and available heated and ventilated front seats help keep driver and passengers comfortable, no matter the weather or road.

The 4Runner may look tough on the outside, but on the inside, it is refined and smooth with plenty of soft-touch surfaces. Premium materials like SofTex on the TRD trim and perforated leather on the Limited model bring comfort and style to the 4Runner.

Safety

You want to feel safe no matter if you are tackling that crazy off-road track or are heading on an all-day road trip. That’s why the 4Runner is a great choice. The 4Runner comes standard with Toyota’s Star Safety System, a suite of active safety features designed to keep you safer.

These six systems are Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TC), Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS), Brake Assist (BA), Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD), and Smart Stop Technology (SST). These systems are designed to work together to keep you safer while you drive.

No matter what you have planned for that next adventure, the 2019 Toyota 4Runner has everything you need to get you there. Come test drive one today and see for yourself.
